On Saturday, a spokesperson for the Chicago Police Department said Smollet is no longer considered a “victim” in the ongoing case of the alleged homophobic and “racist attack” against him by two masked men who yelled, “This is MAGA country!”

The sudden change, according to the Police, is a result of important information acquired during the interrogation of the two Nigerian brothers, Abimbola ‘Abel’ Osundairo (25) and Olabinjo ‘Ola’ Osundairo (27) who were arrested, questioned, had their house searched and later released without charge after agreeing to cooperate.

“We can confirm that the information received from the individuals questioned by Police earlier in the Empire case has, in fact, shifted the trajectory of the investigation. We’ve reached out to the Empire cast member’s attorney to request a follow-up interview,” read the statement from Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

While the two brothers did play a major role in the hoax of the alleged attack, new reports by the local CBS Chicago, CNN and the Daily Mail say Jussie Smollett paid the Nigerian brothers $3,500 to stage the bogus assault against him which he later claimed as a hate crime driven by racism and homophobia.

At the same time the two Nigerian brothers were being arrested at the airport, on Wednesday Police raided their home.

Because of the evidence found in their home including a white rope used as a noose around Smollett’s neck, the Nigerian brothers have since been fully cooperating with the investigation.

As previously reported, Jussie Smollett claims that on January 29 at 2:00 in the morning he was attacked by two men in downtown Chicago screaming racial slurs and homophobic epithets while attacking him.

The two masked assailants presumed to be White Trump supporters, it is alleged, punched, kicked and doused the actor with some bleach and then tied a noose around his neck while shouting ,“This is MAGA country” – a reference to then candidate and now President Trump’s popular political campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”

In view of the ever shifting narratives and recent developments, this narrative is now under serious scrutiny by investigators who reportedly have evidence that Smollet directed his assailants to purchase the rope used in the now hoax attack.

According to CBS Chicago, Smollett paid the brothers $3,500 to stage the attacks against him and directed them to buy the items used during the alleged attack now becoming clear it was staged.

One of the brothers is said to have purchased the rope at the Crafty Beaver Hardware Store on January 25 at the actor’s request which he paid for and then later used as a noose.

The two brothers also bought two red plain hats at an Uptown Beauty Supply store which they wore during the planned attack.

As per their deal, the brothers were to be paid $3,500 before the attack, a sum which they were later paid before leaving for Nigerian with a promise of getting another $500 upon their return back into the country.

They left for their home country Nigeria in the afternoon of January 29 after the attack only to be arrested on February 13 at the Chicago O’Hare airport upon  their return.

After their arrest and release on Friday, the brothers are said to be cooperating with the investigation and are currently staying at an undisclosed location.

This case has mesmerized America with the story dominating the media 24/7.

The mistake Smollet made was when he tried to implicate President Trump and his supporters in the alleged heinous and vicious hate crime by saying one of the attackers yelled, “This is MAGA country!”

That was a huge mistake.

By indirectly implicating the President and his supporters, in a country that is currently deeply polarized along political and ideological lines, and Smollett’s manufactured hate crime has further galvanized each side along those lines.

Despite the fact that the alleged “racist attack” story had huge gaping holes with an ever-shifting and inconsistent  narrative, the liberal mainstream media desperate to take down a President they detest and never supported, used it as another bludgeon tool in a 24/7 news cycle to take him down.

Once the President was involved through his strong condemnation of the now obviously manufactured attack and hoax, the media, politicians and pundits got involved including political supporters from different sides.

The battle lines were drawn, with each side dug deeper in its conviction whether they believed or did not believe the assault ever took place.

With the shifting narrative and in view of the new information, Chicago Police say they are now “eager to speak to Jussie Smollett”, according to ABC News.

The actor has since hired a high-powered attorney as the investigation has taken a sudden shift amidst new allegations that he manufactured his own attack and the entire episode was a hoax.
