A 9-year old girl from Brownfield, Texas whom President Trump asked the nation to pray for as she underwent a risky brain surgery in Boston last Friday is reportedly exceeding expectations with her “amazing” recovery.

The surgery was a success and her lightning fast recovery has surprised doctors at Boston Children’s Hospital, the news of which was been confirmed by her father, Scott Andy Peters.

Sophia Marie Campa-Peters suffers from a rare genetic disorder that causes blood vessels in her brain to narrow thereby causing strokes.  The risk surgery she underwent was to help improve the blood flow. The surgery was perceived risky because it increased chances of the 9-year old having a fatal stroke while undergoing surgery.

Being aware of the complicated nature of her surgery, Sophia started a petition asking people around the world to form a prayer chain for her before undergoing surgery.  President Trump was one of many who responded to the call and joined in.

It was during a White House Press Conference last week that Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee-Sanders passed President Trump’s well wishes.

“He told me to tell you to keep fighting, to never give up, keep inspiring us all and never, ever lose faith in God. With Him, all things are possible,” she spoke indirectly to the 9-year old, ending by quoting a biblical scripture from Luke 1 verse 37.

As the teen underwent surgery, Christians and the faithful across the United States prayed for her, including the President Trump. With prayers coming from across the globe, they were heard and answered.

Young Sophia’s procedure went on without incident and she woke up in good spirits.  She spent the rest of Saturday recuperating and by Sunday, she was transferred from the ICU to a regular room.

Her quick recovery amazed Doctors and prompted her father to post on Facebook that Sophia was able to eat pizza and watch Frozen.  He also pointed out that her daughter was already “getting back to her normal, goofy, silly self.”

“Her recovery has been amazing!  Her nurse stated she has never seen a patient like her with no swelling after surgery!  Her physical therapist stated that the day after surgery she looked like a patient she normally sees on the day of discharge!”

Through the faith of child, a nation together with its Christians, religious faithful and prayer warriors were brought together and once again reminded that, “Through faith, all things are possible.”

As Sophia’s mother said of her daughter, “In a world where things are so bad and ugly, when there is so much loss of faith, people needed to hear Sophia’s story so that they could hear a true testament to God’s grace and His glory revealed.”
