President Trump delivered his first official State Of The Union address on prime time Tuesday night where it was well-received and applauded 111 times.  During the address, he bypassed everyone including the media and spoke directly to the American people.

The keynote speech which touted his accomplishments and set the agenda for the year was well-received and applauded 111 times.

At the beginning of the 80minute speech, Trump stated, “The State of our Union is strong because our people are strong,” of which he received ovation.

President Trump laid out his aggressive policy agenda while calling for unity and partisanship on coming up with proposals on immigration and border security, infrastructure, military and defense spending,

On the issue of immigration, Trump managed to score big, brought down the house and forever changed the Immigration discussion on its head when he reframed a Democrats’ major talking point of “DREAMers” to something more patriotic.

With a single statement, he turned the debate on DACA and Immigration around and said, “Americans are dreamers, too,” bringing down the House with standing ovation with the exception of stone-faced Democrats.

The “Americans are dreamers, too” statement which turned out to be the best line of the Trump State of the Union is going to be a new slogan for Americans and Republicans in this year’s midterms elections against Democrats’ support for illegal immigrants. Social media lit up in response to the statement, making this the most tweeted SOTU in history.

Before then, he had stated that, “My duty and the sacred duty of every elected official in this chamber is to defend Americans, to protect their safety, their families, their communities and their right to the American dream.”

On policy proposals, Trump touted an infrastructure investment development package, increased defense spending to strengthen the military and called for a bipartisan proposal on the contentious issue of Immigration reform and border security.

“This is our new American moment. There has never been a better time to start living the American dream,” he said.

President Trump said he would like a compromise over a plan to rebuild aging roads, bridges and other infrastructure. He said he wanted legislation to generate at least $1.5 trillion through a combination of federal, state and local spending as well as private-sector contributions.

He highlighted guests in the crowd, a group representing a mix of valor and victimhood, which he used to illustrate his calls for patriotism and perseverance.

“Americans love their country.  And they deserve a government that shows them the same love and loyalty in return.”

The State of the Union address was the most watched prime time event with a record breaking 46 million viewers, 11 million of whom were tuned on to Fox News, giving it the highest rating and most watched network in cable tv.  It was also the most tweeted event of the night with over 4.5 million tweets.
