President Trump emerged from a briefing with his national security advisers at Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he is taking a working vacation to hold an impromptu Press Briefing.

Speaking to reporters, he answered a various range of questions ranging from Afghanistan strategy, the ineffectiveness of GOP Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell, North Korea, the opium epidemic to issues of national security and whether or not he had faith in the national intelligence apparatus.

Speaking to reporters at his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, President Trump sent a chilling but stern message to Pyongyang that,  “North Korea better get their act together, or they’re going to be in trouble like few nations ever have been in trouble in this world.”

Although many across the aisle slammed him for what they perceived as harsh language, many from his party including some retired military chiefs came to his defense.  Rather than back down, President Trump doubled down on his previous “fire and fury” statement indicating that it “wasn’t tough enough.”

“They’ve been doing this to our country for a long time, for many years,” he said referring to North Korea’s repeated threats and provocations with its via nuclear program.  “It’s about time that somebody stuck up for the people of this country and for the people of other countries.”

On Tuesday, the President had strongly warned Pyongyang against threatening the United States saying,  “North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States.”

“They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen. He has been very threatening … and as I said they will be met with fire, fury and frankly power, the likes of which this world has never seen before.”

Responding to a question on North Korea’s threat to hit Guam by mid-August, Trump responded with his own threat.

“Let’s see what he does with Guam,” he said in reference to Kim Jong-Un.  “He does something in Guam, it will be an event the likes of which nobody has seen before.”

“You’ll see, you’ll see. And he’ll see,” he said.

President Trump then sent a message of reassurance to Americans and allies,  “The people of our country are safe. Our allies are safe.”

When asked about the actions on the table, Trump declined to comment or rule out preemptive strike on North Korea, saying he won’t discuss potential military options.  “We’ll see what happens,” he said, leaving the option for military action open.

“What they’ve been doing and what they’ve been getting away with is a tragedy and it can’t be allowed,” said the President.
