Democrats are still smarting over losing the 2016 election and have not come to grips with the fact that Donald Trump won and is now the President of the United States.  They have tried, done and continue to do everything to undo the 2016 election results to no avail.

The government shutdown on Friday at midnight to coincide with the First Anniversary of the Trump Presidency and Inauguration is yet another attempt to undermine and bring down this President.

The U.S. government shutdown after Senate Democrats blocked a bill that would have kept the government open as Democrats made good on their threat not to fund the government until President Trump and Republicans agree to grant citizenship to illegal immigrants or so-called “Dreamers.”

In response, the White House labeled Democrats “obstructionist losers” indicating that there will be no negotiations on immigration until the government reopens, undercutting the logic for the shutdown in the first place.

“Senate Democrats own the Schumer Shutdown,” said White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders in a statement posted on Twitter.

Democrat Senate Leader Chuck Schumer forced a government shutdown over DACA.

“Tonight, they put politics above our national security, military families, vulnerable children, and our country’s ability to serve all Americans. We will not negotiate the status of unlawful immigrants while Democrats hold our lawful citizens hostage over their reckless demands. This is the behavior of obstructionist losers, not legislators.”

“When Democrats start paying our armed forces and first responders we will reopen negotiations on immigration reform.”

“A government shutdown was 100 percent avoidable. Now it’s inevitable,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said after the clock struck midnight without a deal.

Democrats who are skilled political spinners and brilliant at messaging and assigning blame to their opponents are already trying to assign blame for the closure  to President Trump, calling it “Trump Shutdown” long after the President had already termed it the ”Schumer Shutdown”.

The House had already passed a four-week “continuing resolution” or CR to keep the government open.  However, Democrats, under intense pressure from their liberal base to insist on tying immigration to the shutdown, rejected that proposal. and blocked the vote to even take place.

Friday night’s vote was the latest demonstration of the power of the immigrant-rights movement — and Dreamers in particular — within the Democratic Party. The DREAMers were the ones who insisted Democrats set a self-imposed Jan. 19 deadline for action on their legal status.

While not opposed to anything on the proposed Spending Bill, Democrats have weaponized a government shutdown over DACA to force President Trump and his young administration to give legal status and citizenship to about 800 000 illegal immigrants in the country. It is also about President Trump and his Administration.

On Friday morning, the House easily defeated another attempt by Democrats to try to begin impeachment proceedings again President Trump, hours before government shutdown.  The vote was defeated 355-66 in contrast to the 364-58 of a similar vote last month.
