Sen. Mitch McConnell blasted Nancy Pelosi on the Senate Floor on Thursday saying “she failed the country” over the impeachment of President Trump.

He  excoriated her for setting new precedent for impeachment by lowering the bar after she succumbed to the most extreme members of her party when she impeached a President over ”unsound” and “unconstitutionally incoherent” accusations that were driven by “partisan rage” and their “feelings about the President.”

He also lambasted Pelosi over her refusal to handover the Articles Of Impeachment to the Senate and using them as bargaining a chip to influence the outcome and the next stage of the impeachment process which she no longer control as a member of the Lower Chamber.

Using the Articles of Impeachment to influence the outcome of the Senatre Impeachment Trial against President Trump is unfair and a constitutional extortion.

Citing the Founding Fathers, McConnell said Democrats and how they impeached Trump and the role of the Democrats was the “worst fear and nightmare” which they feared, pointing to this current political environment as the example of what the framers of the Constitution feared.

“A political faction in the Lower Chamber has succumbed to partisan rage,” he said of the Democrats.

“A political faction in the House of Representatives has succumbed to a partisan rage.  They have fulfilled Hamilton’s philosophy that impeachment will ‘connect itself with pre-existing factions and list all their animosities and they will always be the greatest danger that a decision will be regulated more by the  comparative strength of parties than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt’ and referencing Trump Impeachment, he said , ”“that’s what happened in the House last night.”
