Tuesday – White House National Security Advisor General H.R. McMaster took to the podium in defense of the President and his meeting with the Russian diplomats last week.

He doubled down on his criticism of the false story by the Washington Post accusing President Trump of putting national security at risk by sharing classified information with the Russians.

“The President in no way compromised any sources or methods in this course of conversation,” he told reporters at a White House Briefing.

“What was shared was wholly appropriate given the purpose of that conversation and what the President was trying to achieve through that meeting.”

General McMaster was referring to the now discredited false story published by the Washington Post late on Monday. The report which was solely based on “anonymous sources” has been vehemently denied and dismissed by both the White House and senior officials in the Trump Administration.

President Trump is coming under assault from all directions with his Presidency under threat.

“The President wasn’t even aware of where this information came from,” said McMaster.

He then questioned the credibility of the report, the publisher as well as the motive of the leakers, highlighting the dangers to national security by such leakages.

“The story combined what was leaked with other information and then insinuated about sources and methods.

“National security is put at risk by this leak and by leaks like this,” McMaster told reporters.

Since assuming office, President Trump has been frustrated with leaks coming from the country’s intelligence services, a point reiterated by his National Security Advisor. Like Trump, he wants the leaks to be investigated and the leakers to be brought to justice.

“It is incumbent on all of us to bring in the people with the right authorities and the right mandate to take a look at how this leak occurred and other breaches may have occurred.”

The Washington post on cites “anonymous sources” familiar with what was said in the meeting where only 3 principals were present together with the President. This prompted President Trump to respond to the “leaks” from the intelligence community in a tweet (below),

President Trump has defended his constitutional right and authority as the President against the false reported that he may have violated the law by sharing information with the Russian Foreign Minister last by saying (pointing out he has the ”absolute right” to share information he deems relevant to the situation at hand.

“As President I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining to terrorism and airline safety.  Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism,” Trump tweeted.

Both the National Security Advisor General H.R. McMaster and Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson have both pushed back on the discredited Washington Post report, saying the President did not reveal any “sources or methods” during his meeting with Mr. Lavrov.

There is an alliance between the media and intelligence community that is dead set on destroying this President whichever way they can.

With a media that is obsessed with branding Trumps as “Loose Lips” unfit to be President and undermining his every move, they have inadvertently emboldened leakers who are putting national security at risk.

The only damage that has been done is the one by the leakers who continue to undermine national security by leaking sensitive information to get back at a President they resent and want impeached.
