MONDAY – After months of tensions, threats and diplomatic insults, the historic U.S-North Korea Summit and the first-ever face-to-face meeting between a seating U.S. President and a North Korean dictator is few hours away.

Earlier on Monday, North Korea announced it’s agenda for the summit between President Trump and Kim Jong Un which includes an end to the armistice and Korean War.

According to the local state news agency, the young leader released the agenda in response to the “change era” which some believe is long overdue.

The North Korean agenda includes the following: Establishing New Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK) and U.S. relations including building a permanent and durable peace-keeping mechanism on the Korean Peninsula.

The North Korean agenda also states that the indicated that the Summit address “other issues of mutual concerns as required by the change-era.”

On the other hand, the U.S. objectives are simple and remained constant throughout different administrations: a complete, permanent and verifiable denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

However, the timeline for denuclearization as required by the U.S. is unspecified and remains unknown.

The North Korean agenda appears to be in-line with the goals outlined by President Trump who, unequivocally, stated that this summit is a “one-shot” opportunity for the recluse nation to resolve once and for all the nuclear threat as well as bring peace and prosperity to North Korea.

President Trump and Kim Jong Un are set to meet on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. local time which is 9:00 p.m. EST (U.S.) on Monday evening, less than 2 hours from now.

The level of euphoria in Singapore and the rest of the world cannot be underestimated as evidenced by the interest of global media already there and camped outside the hotels and meeting venues.
