A video footage of Arnold Schwarzenegger being drop-kicked from behind by a man has been circulating on social media. The actor was in Sandton, South Africa attending the Arnold Classic Africa annual sporting event at the Sandton Convention Center on Saturday.
The 71-year old former governor was taking selfies and chatting with fans when a man who had been seen approaching from behind and later lurked somewhere on the background then drop-kicked the actor from behind surprising him in the process.
He later tweeted about the incident to millions of his followers thanking them for their concern. He also insisted that there was “nothing to worry about.”
The attacker was restrained by bodyguards following the incident and later handed over to the local police according to one report.
Schwarzenegger who appeared to have been taken by surprised also pointed out on Twitter the following.
“I thought I was just jostled by the crowd, which happens a lot. I only realized I was kicked when I saw the video like all of you.”
The Arnold Classic Africa event is an annual sporting event that takes place in May featuring a wide range of sports activities such as boxing, tennis, body-building, combat sports, rope-skipping, dancing, beauty pageants and more.
