President Trump made a brief stop to address combined U.S. Forces in the U.S. Yokota Air Base in Tokyo during the first leg of a high-stakes 5-nation visit to the Pacific Rim countries of Japan, China, South Korea, Vietnam and the Philippines.
The 12-day trip is the longest in 25 years since President George H.W. Bush.
Addressing the two nations’ servicemen and personnel on Sunday, President Trump pointed out that, “no one, no dictator, no regime … should underestimate American resolve.”
The comments which were clearly directed at American troops could as well be misinterpreted by others as a veiled threat to other nations within the region.
