On Tuesday evening, the U.S. Senate confirmed President Donald Trump’s nominee for U.S. Attorney General, Pam Bondi, 54:46 along party lines with one Democratic crossing over to vote with Republicans.
She was later sworn in as the 87th U.S. Attorney General (AG) on Wednesday by U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) Associate Justice, Clarence Thomas, alongside President Trump in the Oval Office at The White House.
Also present at the swearing in was Bondi’s partner, John Wakefield and her mother, Patsy Bondi.
This was the first time that Trump participated in a swearing-in ceremony of any of his Cabinet members in his second term. His personal presence was a strong statement on the importance of the Justice Department (DOJ) in his agenda and the significant role Bondi will play as his top federal prosecutor.
His appearance also further underscores Trump’s interest in the operations of the DOJ and his publicly stated desire/intentions to reform it, afterall, this was the one institution that was not only politicized but weaponized and used against him by the previous administration.
Like her boss, Bondi wasted no time after her confirmation went straight to work. Within an hour of being sworn in and assuming control of the DOJ, she went to straight to work, signing a litany of directives to align the Justice Department with the Trump agenda and designed to troll back the Biden Admin’s disastrous policies which are contrary to everything that Trump and his America First espouse.
The Biden Admin’s DOJ policies were deemed as highly partisan, poisonous and very political by many Americans from across political divide.
Who Is Pam Bondi?
Pam Bondi is a strong Trump loyalist and ally, who spent 20 years of her life as a career prosecutor before finally ending where she is today. She is the former State Attorney General for Florida and was the first female to be elected to that position in 2011.
She serviced in that position, as Florida’s AG, from 2011-2019.
